Nancy Beiman was a member of the first graduating class of the Character Animation program at the California Institute of the Arts in 1979 (the only female graduate). Nancy worked as a supervising animator, director, character designer, storyboard artist, illustrator, and producer in feature films, television, commercials, and new media in the USA, Europe, and Australia. She is the author of two books: PREPARE TO BOARD! Creating Story and Characters for Animated Features and Shorts (Elsevier/CVC, third edition, 2017) and ANIMATED PERFORMANCE: bringing imaginary animal, human and fantasy characters to life. (2009; second edition, Bloomsbury Press, 2015). Nancy taught second year storyboard at Sheridan College from 2008 to 2018. Nancy’s most recent film is A SHORT HISTORY OF INDIANS IN CANADA, an animated collaboration with author Thomas King. She has taught animation masterclasses in Colorado, Singapore, Taiwan and Denmark.
