I began my art practice following university and extended travel to Central and South America, at the Ontario College of Art, where I also worked as a model. Throughout my subsequent career as a teacher, I continued to study and practice art while travelling and working with artists in various countries, including Italy, Mexico, Cuba and California.
Drawing and painting is the foundation of my practice, but I have also worked as a printmaker and as an extension I have begun working with mylar as a surface. I continue to draw the figure but my current focus is on landscape. I enjoy recording the subtleties of movement and atmospheric changes of the sky, the sea, the land, ever marveling at the beauty and caprice of the world we inhabit.
No longer committed to full time teaching, I have taken on a project: to restore part an old mill which I have purchased on a river near Florence, Italy. My plan is to create a studio and living space there and perhaps a gallery, in the not so distant future.
