Artist’s Statement:

My paintings, whether representative or abstract, are based on figurative or natural forms, shapes in transition. Constant revelations occur in my collages as the materials at hand morph into new being, following flights of fancy. Often from these images I proceed to paint canvases, with further changes apt to take place in their composition. Some of my work has resonated to poetry, to life drawing, and to the rocky landscape of Nova Scotia, where I now live and maintain a home studio. For many years I was a WAAC studio artist, and in 2010 was named Artist Laureate of the Association.
