Artist Bio:

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, I was educated and attended university in Manitoba. At the University of Manitoba, I received a Bachelor of Science in 1969 and from the University of Toronto I received a Bachelor of Education specializing in elementary education. I attended an outdoor 4 week sketching class in the summer of 2016 at the AGO. In the fall of 2017, I attended a 10 week foundation acrylic painting course at the AGO. I joined the Women’s Art Association of Canada in the spring of 2018. I joined as I wanted to learn about Canadian Women Artists. I have participated in the Association’s Small Gem Show both in 2018 and 2019. I consider myself a hobby artist. I have attended talks at the Women’s Art Association and continue to learn more about creating art. Just before the pandemic, I participated in an Art and Narrative workshop with the artist in residence, Heather Gentleman. Starting in September 2020, I received a donation of fabric from a friend and since then I have been sewing a variety of book tote bags which can also be used for art. I continue to enjoy exploring art by visiting exhibits and referring to books
