Audrey Smith

Artist Bio

Audrey Smith is a Canadian contemporary figurative artist. Born in Québec, her studio practice is now in Caledon, Ontario.
 In addition to solo exhibitions, Audrey has participated in numerous juried Canadian and international group shows and most recently won the Award for Artistic Excellence in the 2024 SCA Elected Members Exhibition. Audrey was also an award finalist in The Carrousel Du Louvre International Art Exhibition, Paris, France and a finalist in the international “Figureworks” exhibition held in Ottawa, Ontario (2016/18). She now has works in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Audrey’s paintings are recognized for their chaotic line work and energetic, visceral brushstrokes. Layers of paint and charcoal are etched and sanded, giving her work a sense of visual history. The undeniable passion found in the application of her mediums is juxtaposed with a sense of gentle solitude, introspection, silence and nuanced shadow.
