Artist Bio
Doverin is a deeply silly queer artist who delights in taking images created by and for the male gaze and re-centering them for her own stupid fun. Tanks of World War II, American Interiors, Erotic Photography photo books and vintage magazines are meticulously cut by hand and glued together in physical collages, copied, enlarged and enhanced with neon spray paint, gold leaf, hand made stamps, shower curtain, and just about anything else that looks cool to become colorful mixed-media pieces. Her series 'Soft Targets' inverts images originally designed to seduce with those designed to dominate, inviting a re-examination of the aesthetics of power.
