Valentina Hotz

Artist Bio

Valentina Hotz holds Master’s degrees with Honours in Fine Art and Architecture. Over the last 25 years, she has held numerous successful solo exhibitions in Canada, USA, South Africa, and Israel. She also designed a collectible coin for the Royal Canadian Mint and has had several large mural painting commissions. Her works are in many private collections in South Africa, Canada, USA, UK, and France, and featured on the covers of several books. Valentina’s style can be described as Magic Realism, where reality and dreams intertwine. In the manner of Leonor Fini, Paul Delvaux and René Magritte, she presents a world that is recognizably our own, yet into this realistic world are introduced elements that derive from imagination, dreams and mythology. Valentina has been recently based in Toronto, Edinburgh, and Amsterdam.
