Artist Bio

Virginia Dixon is a Canadian painter, born in Montreal, earning her BFA from Concordia University before moving to Toronto. While raising three children, she earned her MFA from Vermont College, Norwich University (now Vermont College of Art). Apart from her painting practice, she has written exhibition reviews (Border Crossings), and owned/operated the Pteros Gallery (Toronto) featuring Canadian artist-poets, renowned and new. Frequent visits to India have deeply influenced her spiritual path. Virginia Dixon has exhibited widely in Ontario. One of her paintings hangs in Northrop Frye Hall, Victoria University, U of T.
