Carolyn Jongward

Carolyn paints with acrylics and works in mixed media. Her extensive experience as tapestry artist informs her painting, as does her ongoing exploration of colour, pattern, and texture. Her creative process is the subject of Weaver of Worlds, published by Inner Traditions International. Her tapestries have been exhibited in Canada, United States, and England and are held in private and corporate collections. Carolyn has taught courses and workshops on tapestry, design, colour and creative process. In 1987 she received a Master of Arts at the Royal College of Art in London, England. In 1995 she completed her doctorate at Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto, focused on the role of creativity and arts in adult education. Carolyn’s studio is at the Women’s Art Association, and she has frequently exhibited her dynamic, colourful, abstract paintings in the Dignam Gallery. She is a member of the professional Canadian artists’ association, CARFAC.
