Susana Wald born in 1937 in Budapest, Hungary. Canadian, has worked formerly in Argentina and Chile. Presently works in Canada and in her studio in San Andrés Huayapan, close to the city of Oaxaca, Mexico.
Taught ceramics, drawing, painting and theory of creativity in Chile, Mexico and Canada.
Solo shows in Chile, Canada, Iceland, Mexico and Venezuela. Participation in numerous group shows, among which the XLII Venice Biennial in 1986; Iberoamérica Pinta, the traveling show organized by UNESCO from 1997 to 2000; and the 2016 The Keys of Desire, International Surrealist Show, in Costa Rica and other Central American countries.
Her works are in public collections in Canada, Israel, Chile, Mexico and Spain, and in private collections in many countries, including the United States.
A mural of hers is inaugurated in 2018 in the Government Building of the Maule Region of Chile.
She participates with the Guenda Womens’ Collective and the Xicoténcatl Collective, both based in Oaxaca.
In 2018 she celebrates the 55th anniversary of her first solo show.
