The Women’s Art Association of Canada (WAAC) is a not-for-profit Charitable Organization and since 1887 has been advancing the appreciation, creation and exhibitions of the arts. The mandate is to support development in the arts through its scholarship and public education programs.

WAAC is seeking a part-time, 14 hours/week (flexible), Assistant Office Manager with a demonstrated interest in working for a charitable arts organization and with a strong emphasis on the visual arts. The successful candidate will have in-depth employment experience related to technological systems and solutions.

Core Responsibilities:

The Assistant Office Manager (AOM) will report to the President and work with the Executive Office Manager on day-to-day duties, updating WAAC’s website and event calendar, internet management, and some marketing communication initiatives. Particular areas of priority are:

  • Exhibitions management
  • Membership management
  • Event management
  • Rental bookings management
  • Fundraising
  • Development of an electronic filing/archival system
  • Outreach (e.g. donor, community, associated arts organizations)
  • Social media communications
  • Answer the telephone, greet visitors & provide tours to potential clients and artist members
  • Ensure WAAC’s Covid protocols are followed

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, WordPress, Buffer, Dropbox, Drive, Zoom.
  • Experience evaluating efficacy of technology programs and formulating recommendations
  • Proven ability to set priorities and complete tasks in a timely way
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
