I am going to talk about the role of colour in my work as well as the role of art-making in my life. Even as I write this, I think that “role” is not the right word. Phenomena might be better. It isn’t as if I corralled either of these things for a certain purpose. Things have consequences though. A simple hug can change a person’s life.
Artist Bio
Lynne McIlvride calls herself a “Contemporary Visionary Artist”.
Within the past 35 years, her work has been shown across Canada and in the U.S. though she is most interested in her home and studio becoming art destinations in themselves.
Lynne is a mixed media artist: she works with a wide variety of material in countless combinations.
Past series include densely packed miniature boxes, huge panoramic watercolour mountainscapes, and vibrant reduction linoleum prints, and more recently, hand-carved relief sculptures which then become the base for highly saturated paint and beadwork.
