Women artists have been often shut out, undervalued, and unrecognized by both commercial and public galleries. The statistics are stark, particularly for older women, women of colour, LGTBTQ2I women. How will contemporary art conversation – and our future art history – change with inclusion? As collectors, what is our role in the art ecosystem to effect change?

Carlyn Moulton has had a life-long passion for the arts. In the late 70s, she worked with small Toronto publishers, while pursuing graduate studies in Theology, History and Philosophy. She was one of the founders of the Women’s Cultural Building Collective in Toronto, a documentary film producer and director, a trainer in investigative journalism for Carleton University and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. In 2004, she founded the Oeno Gallery, now one of the leading contemporary galleries in Canada, with an extraordinary sculpture garden attracting over 30,000 visitors a year.
