WAAC Member & Artist Catharine Somerville exhibits at Gallery 1313’s “25th Anniversary Exhibit,” January 19-February 28, 2022.
In honour of Gallery 1313’s 25th Anniversary milestone, they are hosting a celebratory Anniversary exhibition comprised of 25 artists works including our very own Catharine Somerville.

Catharine was born in Toronto and works both in the UK & Canada while her work itself is a visual experience concerned with the observed world in arrays of light and colour.

From the Artist herself, “My Intention is to create a moment. A brief meaningful moment using paint. Nature during the pandemic seems to be more beautiful, finite and alive, similar to a burst of light from a candle before the flame is extinguished. From microbes to whales, every life is connected in a complex and fragile network. There seem to be endless discoveries about my life and my relationship with the natural world. Painting is the way I express my angst, appreciation and love.”
