Night Journeys in Locked-Down Toronto

Visual artist, photographer and documentary filmmaker Rita Leistner and actor, writer and filmmaker Don McKellar talk for the first time about their performative photographic collaboration set in Toronto at night and shot during the first year of the pandemic. First featured in the Globe and Mail in October 2021, Infinite Distance has its gallery debut on January 29th at the Stephen Bulger Gallery as part of the group show, Wanderlust. In this informal presentation, the two artists will discuss the genesis of the project, their process, inspirations and influences, and how making art during the pandemic provided a sustaining grounding experience in the midst of isolation and uncertainty.

ZOOM lectures 11 a.m.—12 p.m.

The Women’s Art Association of Canada is grateful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for its support

We wish to acknowledge this land on which the Women’s Art Association of Canada operates. For thousands of years it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
