The Middle Child is an annual exhibition showcasing third year artists in the Art and Art History program at the University of Toronto Mississauga and Sheridan College. This year’s show features 12 artists exploring a variety of media and expressions as they build on the knowledge and skills from their junior years, and work towards distinct individual styles near the end of the program.

One member of the group, Huan Chen, is this year’s winner of the Women’s Art Association of Canada’s Rheta D. Fines scholarship. Together with Chen’s paintings, the artworks in this show highlight the achievement of the “middle children” of the Art and Art History program. The exhibition is curated and organized by the students as a collaborative effort.

Participating Artists:
Areeba Akhter | Huan Chen | Alexander Denis | Treasure Fatile | Diana Lawryshyn | Morgan McCracken | Dania Murad | Meya Powell | Emily Scriver | Beatriz Simas | Em Tanner | Jessica Zhang
