The Women’s Art Association of Canada is pleased to present: “Scent of Home: Abstract Paintings by member Iwona Kmiec.
“Every home has a scent… In my exhibition “Scent of Home” I want to express my desire to represent home as the most important component in the life of the human being. Ideally, it’s a place of love, safety, comfort, respect, trust… By using ordinary objects, such as repurposed wooden table top, food serving trays, and wire, as a backdrop in my artistic means, I want to connect life’s building experiences and pay tribute to women who traditionally play a major role in creating the “home” we all dream of having. Also, I try to spark discussion on the intricate connection of the value of house work, tradition, and progress in women’s life in the context of current reality.”
