The Women’s Art Association of Canada is pleased to present watercolour and mixed media paintings and glass art by Kate Greenway.
“When contemplating how to compile this show, I kept returning to a conversation I had at another gallery opening this winter, where a viewer told me that one of my pieces made her smile, which was good because, “We all need a little joy right now. That stuck with me, and I almost named this show after her comment. The truth is, this is not a statement show – there is no deep message, or inquiry into societal issues or ills. This collection is assembled by subject rather than by medium. The works range from watercolour, to glass, to explorations in combining the two, and in the use of hand-painted tissue collage. It is a simple presentation of what I created over the last few pandemic years, what made me happy and gave me peace: beauty, nature, animals, flowers, growth, and the pleasure of immersing myself in something positive and joyful. My hope is that these works might do the same for you.”
