Artist Profile

My work has evolved over the years from realistic renderings in watercolour through printmaking and now creating abstract images in acrylic and collage.

The challenges of abstract painting at times can be difficult but I feel abstraction allows the viewer to participate in the process through their own ideas and feelings.

I am continuing to learn from other artists, past and present, and can alway find inspiration from them and the world around me. Hopefully I will be able to make Art for the rest of my life.

Artist Bio

Presently I am living in Toronto and am a member of The Women's Art Association of Canada.

My most recent solo exhibition was held there in late March 2017.

Originally I am from Toronto and studied Art at a number of colleges and universities including Mount Allison, the Banff School of Fine Art, Sheridan College, George Brown College, and the Ontario College of Art.

In my early career the subject matter in my work was representational, but recently I have become more interested in abstracting organic images. Bold colours and high energy in nature fascinate me. Recently downtown Toronto is another inspiration for my art work.
