Kate Maura is an emerging artist, recent grad OCADU 2019. A new series entitled: Memory of the Earth began while teaching a plein air drawing class in 2020 and was struck by a kalaidoscope of butterflies. Her interest was in the experiences we gather, tangible and intangible, its destiny transience. She combines cut up bits of studies of wings, fragments of approaches, transformed to become abstractions. Reminders that we are changing everyday, transforming like nature.
