Artist Bio
Manuela Stefan is a Canadian-Romanian photographer based in Toronto, whose work is driven by her lifelong bond with horses and a deep immersion in equine culture. Through her internationally recognized Graceful Horses collection, Manuela explores the idea of freedom as a lived force, expressed through movement, landscape, and the untamed spirit of the horse. Drawn to the horses’ raw beauty, power, and vulnerability, Manuela creates visual and written essays that dissolve the line between documentation and emotion, inviting the viewer into a space of quiet intensity and reflection. Manuela’s fine equine photography has been exhibited in galleries, film festivals, and juried art fairs across Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Europe. Inspired by a growing number of women seeking to explore alongside her, Manuela has developed women’s horse retreats that merge art, travel, and personal transformation, offering a direct, embodied experience of the landscapes and cultures she explores. Manuela donates a portion of her art sales to horse rescue and rehabilitation initiatives, honoring the animals that continue to shape her creative path.
