Sally Thurlow

Artist Bio

Sally Thurlow is a Canadian artist known for her multi-disciplinary works shown in public galleries over many years. She is a founding member of The Iris Group, who, after 30 years, recently finished their closing exhibition at the Kent-Farndale Gallery, Port Perry, ON, 2025. She has given numerous artist talks and workshops at educational institutions and public galleries. More recently, she has shown in group exhibitions at the Women’s Art Association of Canada in Toronto. In 2023 she taught 3rd Year Contemporary Studio Practice in the Global Context at Durham College. She is a former member of The Red Head Gallery in Toronto with solo exhibitions there over ten years. In 2013, her RECLAMATION exhibition at the Visual Arts Centre, Bowmanville ON resulted from a 6 week artist residency in Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland. From 2006 - 2008 her CANOE DREAMINGS sculptural exhibition traveled to six public galleries across Ontario.
