Artist Bio
Susan is a Toronto visual artist working primarily in mixed media, collage and assemblage. Her work tends to be very detailed, using symmetry, layering, and/or perspective to draw the eye to a focal point. She works in a wide range of materials, including her own photography, found images, Japanese papers, paint, pencil crayon, and mostly in vibrant colour. Susan’s work expresses ideas or experiences that are meaningful to her. They are often inspired by the beauty of nature, human relationships with each other and the natural world, neighbourhoods: the people and the history, the many facets of time and keeping time, or issues of the day. A particular interest will often result in a series to more deeply explore the topic.
