Artist Bio
Yaryna Yuryk is a Ukrainian artist and curator whose work explores themes of identity, memory, and the human condition through abstraction and symbolism. Drawing inspiration from nature, philosophy, Ukrainian heritage, and Biblical narratives, she examines the dualities of life and death, good and evil, and war and peace. Her paintings are characterized by rich, symbolic color palettes that evoke catharsis and transformation. An Honored Artist of Ukraine, Yuryk studied at the Lviv Professional College of Arts and Lviv Polytechnic University, earning a Ph.D. in 2012. She was the first Ukrainian artist selected for the Design and Watercolor Salon at the Grand Palais in Paris (2017–2018) and the Autumn Salon of Latin America in São Paulo (2016). Her work has been exhibited at the National Museums of Ukraine and the Lviv National Art Gallery, and is held in museum collections in Ukraine as well as in private collections worldwide. Yaryna has also exhibited at Art Expo New York, LA Art Fair, and during Miami Art Week, among others. Since 2022, she has been painting in Canada, and since 2023, she has been a member of WAAC. Her solo exhibition at the Ruth Upjohn Gallery, Gratitude/Miracle of Life (2023), was inspired by the energy of the universal law of gratitude. It serves as a tribute to Canada Day, celebrating the spirit of thankfulness and the power of art to heal and uplift.
